I agree!! It wouldn't be horrible if he was gay but what makes people think he is? I honestly have no clue. My mom says that all the time but I think it's just because she knows I LOVE HIM! Just because he's awesome and doesn't wanna be all perverted like normal guys and can sing like amazingly well (and is GORGEOUS) doesn't make him gay. It makes everyone else jealous.

By the time a boy reaches puberty the driving force in their life is SEX. We mothers who have sons don't want to think about it but it's a fact and I challenge anyone who has teenage boys to disagree with me that teenage boys don't think about sex or want girlfriends. Fathers are different in the sense that they want their sons to be "men" as long as they are careful and respect women. At 17-18 a boy's hormones are raging regardless of what faith they are, or how well their upbringing is or that they are from a good decent family with values. A boy could get "the talk" from their mom and dad about respecting a girl and "don't mess up your life" talk and still--they want to experience having a girlfriend and possibly being inimate/sex with her. Very few 16/17+ year old boys ever say "I want to save myself for my wedding night" or "I'm not ready for a relationship with a girl" or "I'm not ready to date" or "I'll only have sex when the right girl comes into my life." We are talking about juniors/seniors in High School and most boys (and girls I might add) at that age would be horrified that they were still "virgins" and almost off to College. Today, boys & their girls hang out in a group more and many of them aren't boyfriends & girlfriends--but they are looking and want that kind of status.

I remember my boy cousins at (14), with me being a couple of years younger, they felt free to talk about this stuff all the time. They were good kids too. They couldn't wait until some of my friends would show up because I guess they thought they were "hot" and they had a better chance to score with a "mature" woman (15/16) LOL. They never did but they kept trying even though my friends thought they were buzzing insects and never even noticed them.

That's all they every talked about was sex and that continued on and still does today--even them being married family men. When they were young they didn't particularly care if they had girlfriends--as long as they got something out of it--SEX or some kind of intimacy but a girlfriend would give them that easy access to sex. They had interests mind you, other than SEX and goals in their life like going to College and that kind of stuff.

I guarantee that if they were budding stars--such as a singer or musician--they would have never felt compelled to "focus solely on their music or singing" and not get involved in a relationship--especially if they were as well-known as David Archuleta is with girls literally falling all over him. In fact, my cousins would have thought they won the lottery and wouldn't have hesitated to not take what is being offered. Everyone needs a balance in their life and I really don't think any heterosexual teenage boy or man would forego having a relationship or sex to focus on their career. A 17 year old boy may not want a serious relationship with a girl because they clearly aren't going to get married for sometime--but they would want a girlfriend and would be able to handle focusing on their music & still have a girlfriend.

Most adults think that because David Archuleta is just 17 - he's just a kid so of course we think he's too young to be thinking about girls & stuff. Really???? The only think David Archuleta should not be ready for is "marriage" but dating & having girlfriends especially now with such a bounty to pick from? He's won the lottery. If he has time to have "female" friends (just friends), he has time to date & have a girlfriend--yet he say's he's too young and wants to focus on his music. I seriously don't know what to make of that.

I appreciate the insite into the male mind but I'm not sure thats totally correct. I know at least ten or eleven guys who have litterally trained themselves not to think of girls like that. Maybe David's the same way. I just think that its a little ridiculous to say that hes gay just becasue he can take his pick and is young but wants to focus on his music so he doesn't have a girlfriend.
